"The Walls, come tumblin' down, the walls, come tumblin' down, the walls, come tumblin' tumblin', tumblin' tumblin' down."

John "Cougar" Mellencamp.

Because journalism isn't only for journalists anymore. Citizen journalism shapes media outlets more and more.

I'm not sure about the music, but I believe that this excerpt from the movie Ice Age is a good scene to explain how journalism (the Dodos) is fighting with a no-threat (the stars of the movie) for the melons, ads and audience.

It's probably not how everyone else feels, but I think "Lua" by Bright Eyes or "Game Shows Touch Our Lives" by The Mountain Goats have the appropriate air of sentimentality and desperation.

Or there's always Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up." I mean, I *am* kind of a lifer, insofar as that will be possible.

If you changed the headline to "newspapers," then I'd say "under pressure." But since it says "journalism," I'd say none of the above.

Ugh...."You Can't Always Get What You Want" was the stupid song Gary Pruitt put at the end of his video message to employees when he announced McClatchy's first layoffs ever this summer. He even sang the chorus then closed the video with an image of the Stones. What a terrible message to your staff, and now I don't work there anymore. At least I can get much of what I want, I guess.
